AAAHHHHHHH! This is truly scary! And it probably means I should take down that Farah Fawcett poster in my upstairs front window that I have been using as a sun screen. (Farah is kneeling toward the street!)

Some reaction: I know you aren't actually serious but I'm afraid some people really will think they can understand the world by looking at it on their computer screen. They can't. Street views are a part of understanding - say 1/10,000. Aerial views are a part of understanding - say 1/500. Satellite views are a part of understanding - say 1/100. That is a subjective rating system.

Getting maps for your kids to hang on their walls is, again in my view, a great way to open their minds. They don't have to turn something on to see those, they are a more permanent part of their personal environment and one that stays with them throughout life. Answering questions that grow out of those maps - to use the ad cliche - priceless. Using computer info for that task is the miracle of our age.
